Gadget Review ~ Anova Precision Cooker, no more overcooking

06.19
At last there is an affordable gadget that gives you pro chef quality in your own kitchen. The Anova Precision Cooker enables you to sous vide (pronounced sue-veed) ensuring no more over cooking. Professional chefs have been using this technique in their restaurants for years, but this gadget facilitates you to vacuum seal in a typical re-sealable food bag and then water bath the food at a very precise temperature. This technique produces results that are impossible to achieve through any other cooking method and prevents the overcooking of meat and fish.

The Anova Precision Cooker can be used with any pot and is attached using its adjustable clamp. After placing the food in a re-sealable food bag, simply clip the bag to the pot using the clamp. Follow  the instructions for the relevant timing and leave the precision cooker to do its job. It circulates water around the pot, this circulation prevents hot and cool spots from forming in the water to ensure an even temperature throughout your food resulting in it never overcooking. Because you cook your food to a precise temperature for a precise amount of time, you can expect very consistent results. Food cooks in its juices sealing in the flavour, ensuring that the food tastes juicy and tender.

Once youve used one there is no turning back and you soon learn there are many other foods you
can prepare using it other than just meat and fish, it certainly gets a 5/5 from The Mlaga Food Guide.

Malaga Food Guide

"... the homemade Flamenqun were definitely the best I have sampled "

There is a varied menu, but undoubtedly the most popular is a very reasonably priced Menu del Dia.
Every day they offer a two or three course menu of fresh homemade food and the Menu del Dia changes daily. The menu offers a choice of starters, mains and desserts. We opted for the mussel soup to start, which was loaded with plump mussels. For the main course I had the homemade Flamenqun, served with saut potatoes and a salad garnish, and they were definitely the best I have sampled. Dessert consisted of a baked apple in filo pastry with a heavenly creme ingls. All this washed down with a couple of glasses of the house white, a very palatable Rueda, made for a very satisfying and reasonably priced lunch.
